Elias Householder, owner/operator of Householder Wildlife Solutions, has been in the wildlife business since he was a boy. He began fur trapping in 2009, first tagging along with his father and soon after running trap lines of his own. His father taught him the importance of trapping when it comes to wildlife management and maintaining a healthy habitat. Just like it was yesterday, he can share the excitement of catching his first bobcat, the thrill of trapping his first gray fox, and even the silly times when he was the one who got caught in his own trap! Ouch!
Over the years, Elias found that the great outdoors wasn’t the only place where wildlife required careful management. An increasing number of these wild animals have been infiltrating residential and commercial areas, frequently causing property damage, tormenting pets and livestock, and in worse cases, creating an unsafe living environment. As the practice of trapping and understanding of wildlife has become more rare, most property owners are simply unprepared to handle such a nuisance.
